The Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club (SMMC) has recognised Andrew Main, who has stepped down as a Trustee after over fifty years of dedicated service to motorsport and to the Club.

A group of RAF air cadets swapped drill practice for pit lanes in a day that fused motorsport thrills with life-saving rescue skills, courtesy of the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club’s Rescue and Medical Group and the TOCA Safety Team.

The Galloway Hills Rally has been a highlight in the forests of southwest Scotland since 1974, and this year’s event on Saturday 13th September marks its 50th Anniversary. The rally will run through the scenic Galloway forests of Black Loch and Cairn Edward, with each stage tackled twice in one direction and once in reverse. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us as radio operators or marshals, helping to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.

If you’re a current or aspiring motorsport radio marshal - from any club or background - come and join us for an in-depth Radio Marshals Training Day on Saturday 30 August. Hosted by the SMMC Safety Radio Group, it’s open to anyone interested in rally radio, whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on your experience.

Round 8 of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup rolls into Scotland at the end of this month, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it happen! 5-6 rally timing marshals are needed to staff Arrival Time Controls across the route. Whether you’re an experienced marshal or just curious to get involved, this is a unique opportunity to support an FIA international event on your doorstep!

The Jim Clark Rally has now been running for over 50 years and throughout its history has relied on an army of volunteers to attend make it the huge success it is. All signed on volunteers will receive a Supermarket voucher, goody bag and 25% discount voucher for food from Blackadder Mini Market and Deli on the rally route in Greenlaw. If you can help your assistance will be very much appreciated by the Organising Team.

Mull Car Club are still seeking marshals and radio crews for the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally on 20/21 June 2025.

Glenrothes Motor Sport Club are running the KVR Motorsport Stages Rally at Crail Airfield on Saturday 7 June. Your help in making sure this rally is a success would be very much appreciated.

This morning, Garry Headridge, Chair of SMMC, has signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the Club. The Club has members who are serving members of our armed forces along with serving reservists and a number of veterans. We're incredibly proud of them and grateful for their service.

Dr Paul Trafford, Chair of Motorsport UK’s Medical Committee and the UK representative on the FIA Medical Commission, officially "launched" SMMC’s new Rescue Ambulance during the lunch break at the Border Access Knockhill Rally Stages yesterday.

We are delighted that our efforts around sustainability have been recognised by Motorsport UK through the award of their Sustainability Accreditation.
