Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club (SMMC) is the only Club in Scotland that’s dedicated to all four-wheel motorsport disciplines. There are very few motorsport events held north of the border where SMMC is not playing a significant role with either our trained personnel or specialist equipment being involved.

We’re not just close to the action... we’re PART of it!

Jim Clark Rally - can you help?

As the most popular closed road event in the UK, the Beatson’s Building Supplies Jim Clark Rally requires a significant number of volunteers both on and off the stages to run the rally. There are still a large number of marshalling opportunities across the event – the stages (three on Friday, four on Saturday and three on Sunday all run twice); the start / finish, and the Service Area near the town all need to be covered. And not forgetting the shakedown, near Duns, on Friday morning.

Training: Introduction to Spectator Safety

If you haven't already seen it, the Scottish Association of Motor Sports Clubs are running a webinar on Tuesday 30 April (7pm) about spectator safety. It will also cover marshalling on Closed Road Rallies.

Marshals... we need you!

The BTRDA now moves north for its next two rounds and both the Border Counties Rally in May and the Kielder Forest Rally in June need marshals to assist with the safe running of the events.

Extrication training enhancements, thanks to Stuart Robertson at Renomotive

We are extremely grateful to Stuart Robertson - ‘Clio Stu' of Renomotive - for donating a Renault Clio shell to SMMC to use as an extrication training car. Complete with a competition roll cage and race seats with harnesses, the car is a fantastic addition to our training resources, and we are indebted to Stuart for his generosity and support in donating the car for volunteer and official training.

Request for Radio Marshals – Grant Construction Knockhill Stages, 18 February 2024

The 2024 Scottish rally season will kick off on Sunday 18 February when Border Ecosse Car Club hold the Grant Construction Knockhill Stages. A number of radio marshals are needed to assist with the safe running of the event.

Extension to deadline for Acquired Rights Scheme

Motorsport UK have announced that the closing date for applications under the Acquired Rights Scheme has been extended. All paperwork must now be submitted to Motorsport UK by 31st March 2024.
