With a heavy heart, we share the sad news that James Stronach, a former member of SMMC and the Rescue Team, passed away peacefully at 5am this morning at Strathcarron Hospice, with his family by his bedside.

Many will know James through his dedicated service to Scottish motorsport, particularly with Lothian Car Club and the Doune Hillclimb. His calm leadership, commitment to safety and support for others earned him great respect across the sport.

In December, he was recognised nationally as a runner up in the Motorsport UK Volunteer of the Year Award, a fitting acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution over many years.

James will be remembered for his professionalism, warmth and encouragement to others. Our thoughts are with Jackie, Grant, Gemma, and brother Andy, and all of his family and friends at this very difficult time.
