Race with Respect – Our Commitment
Race with Respect is Motorsport UK’s Code of Conduct. It sets clear expectations for behaviour across all forms of motorsport and is essential to ensuring motorsport remains safe, inclusive, and welcoming. All licence holders agree to uphold its core values – respect, integrity, fair play, self-control and good manners - in all interactions, both online and in person.
As marshals and officials, we are central to upholding these standards. At every event – whether on circuits, rallies, hill climbs, sprints, karting, or any other discipline – we help create an environment where safety, fairness, and respect are at the heart of the experience for everyone involved.
Race with Respect means:
- Respecting others – whether competitors, officials, volunteers, or spectators
- Celebrating diversity and inclusion within motorsport
- Promoting fairness, integrity, and safety in everything we do
- Challenging poor behaviour in a constructive and responsible way
- Being role models for professionalism in our sport
We encourage all members to familiarise themselves with Race with Respect and put its values into practice at every event. It’s about more than rules – it’s about how we treat one another, how we welcome newcomers, and how we work together to keep events safe and enjoyable. When we show respect, fairness, and good manners at every event, we set the tone for the whole community. This helps make motorsport more inviting, encourages others to get involved, and reminds us all why we are proud to be part of the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club.
