Motorsport UK have today confirmed that the FIA World Rally Championship will return to the UK in 2027 with the creation of Rally Scotland, based in Aberdeen and the forests of the north-east.

For Scotland’s marshals and volunteer officials, the return of the FIA World Rally Championship to Great Britain in 2027 with the creation of Rally Scotland, represents an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s premier motorsport events. Scotland has a long tradition of hosting major rallies and providing experienced, highly respected volunteer teams who help deliver events safely and professionally.
Rally Scotland will place the spotlight firmly on the skills and commitment of the volunteer workforce that underpins the sport. From stage start and finish teams to safety crews and radio operators deep in the forests, hundreds of volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the event runs successfully.
SMMC believes the return of the Championship will also inspire a new generation of volunteers to get involved in the sport, while highlighting the important role that marshals play in motorsport at every level.
