This coming weekend sees rounds 5 and 6 of Super Lap Scotland, the Rockstar Chase Series and the Scottish BMW Compact Cup kick up a gear as the season really heats up at Knockhill. For marshals, it also counts as attendance signatures to put towards qualification for the 2020 British Grand Prix.

Last year, SMMC donated a full set of specialist extrication equipment to the International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA) which they have taken to Albania, along with vehicles and other equipment.

Diana Baines is the 2019 recipient of SMMC’s prestigious Jim Clark Marshalling Award, recognising a significant or meritorious contribution to motor sport marshalling in Scotland.

The new Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns will open to the public on Thursday 11 July, with a modern and vibrant celebration of Jim Clark’s incredible career and impact on motorsport around the world.

Registration for Marshals of all disciplines is now open and you are invited to Berwickshire over the weekend of 8th & 9th November 2019 to be part of the team working together to deliver a fantastic Jim Clark Memorial Rally in 2019.

Whether you are interested in a hill climb, tarmac rally or off-road action, events still require your assistance as a marshal this weekend.

We'll have "Rescue 14" on display at the Kames Classic Car Show on Sunday. Little kids, big kids, and adults who still wish they were kids can see inside one of our specialist vehicles and we'll also be demonstrating the medical and extrication equipment.

You will have seen the notification on Wednesday of the Super Lap Scotland event at Knockhill on 15 / 16 June.  Two other events that weekend are also looking for marshals:

• Doune Hill Climb; including rounds of the British Championship; and
• The UK Rally Scene Summer Stages Rally at Crail.

KMSC (Knockhill Motor Sports Club) are looking for marshals at theSuper Lap Scotland Rounds 3 and 4 taking place over the weekend of 15th and 16th June at Knockhill Racing Circuit.

The 2019 RSAC Scottish Rally, which is running on Saturday 18 May, still needs a substantial number of marshals of all disciplines, as well as six radio crews to enable the event to run safely.

The annual Jim Clark Memorial Rally is back under Starter's Orders. Following the final completion of new legislation by the Scottish Government this week, the way is now open to bring the rally back to Berwickshire.

The Scottish Government has today passed legislation that permits motorsports events, such as stage rallies, hill climbs and trials of speed, on closed public roads in Scotland.
