Following on from the online discussion around the future of stage rallying in Scotland and the recent meeting held in Stirling, the organisers of the STRC have set up a brief survey to gather a range of views specific to that championship.

Hill climbing returns to Bo’ness this weekend for the 12th year under the organisation of the Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival Club. Marshals are still required for both days with Sunday being particularly short at present.

Round 4 of ScotMX All Comers will be held at Doune Motocross Track, Argaty, FK16 6EN, this Saturday 31 August and they are looking for marshals.

It’s typical rally weather here on my hilltop this morning! (Drizzling and misty!) There are a few requests for help for events that are coming up in the next couple of months. If you are able to help it would be good to hear from you.

The last quarter of 2019 sees rallying in Scotland take a major step forward with the reintroduction of closed roads rallying – the Beatson's Building Supplies Mull Rally (11-13 October) and the Jim Clark Rally (8-9 November).

The training day on Saturday 7th September has been added to the calendar to provide rally marshals with more of the knowledge required for this unique type of event.

Marshals of all levels of experience are required for the Doune Hillclimb on the 14th and 15th of September. Don't worry if you are new to motorsport, we'll make sure you are buddied up with someone who has been to the Hill before.

Scottish Motor Racing Club are excited to announce that they will be running their first track night, on Wednesday 14 August at Knockhill. The evening will also act as an open evening for those looking to start racing, with opportunities to receive coaching, get a passenger lap and pick up an information pack.

An open meeting for everyone with an interest to give their input to help shape what our sport will look like. There is one agenda item: How can we ensure our sport survives and thrives going forward?

This coming weekend sees rounds 5 and 6 of Super Lap Scotland, the Rockstar Chase Series and the Scottish BMW Compact Cup kick up a gear as the season really heats up at Knockhill. For marshals, it also counts as attendance signatures to put towards qualification for the 2020 British Grand Prix.

Last year, SMMC donated a full set of specialist extrication equipment to the International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA) which they have taken to Albania, along with vehicles and other equipment.

Diana Baines is the 2019 recipient of SMMC’s prestigious Jim Clark Marshalling Award, recognising a significant or meritorious contribution to motor sport marshalling in Scotland.

The new Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns will open to the public on Thursday 11 July, with a modern and vibrant celebration of Jim Clark’s incredible career and impact on motorsport around the world.
