Diana Baines is the 2019 recipient of SMMC’s prestigious award, the Jim Clark Marshalling Award (JCMA).

She received the award from Club Director Garry Headridge during the Mach1 Stages held at Machrihanish on 13/14 July.

Diana has been a strong supporter of the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club and its activities for a number of years and can be relied upon to deliver a highly professional approach to ensuring event communications are run safely and in accordance with the requirements set by Motorsport UK. A highly experienced licenced Radio Controller, Diana co-ordinates the safety radio network on the Scottish Rally, rounds of the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship and numerous off-road events including the Scottish Borders Hill Rally.

Away from events, she has undertaken treasurer duties for Clubs and had a spell as Cross Country Co-ordinator for what was then the Scottish Association of Car Clubs.

The JCMA is made to a member of the Club who, in the sole opinion of the Directors, had made a significant or meritorious contribution to motor sport marshalling in Scotland. First awarded in 1994, Diana is the 16th Club member to receive the award. Read more about the Jim Clark Marshalling Award here.
