Unfortunately I need to let you know of the deaths of two former members, Stan Edmond and Ken MacRae, both of whom were highly respected in the racing world.

Some of our marshals and radio marshals have had to drop out of the Kingdom Stages because of COVID. If you’re available on Saturday 6 November, we’d love to hear from you.

Radio Operators are required for the Annabelle Tennant Milltown Stages Rally at Milltown Airfield on Sunday 21 November.

The SMMC Trustees have appointed Dr Ben Shippey as the Club’s Medical Adviser. Ben takes over from Dr John Harrington who is stepping down after 2 years of service in that role.

Marshals and Radio Marshals are needed for the final round of the KNC Groundworks Motorsport UK Scottish Rally Championship this weekend.

We are pleased to announce that David Swinton, one of our founding members and the Club's first Chairman, has agreed to take on the role of Honorary President.

Seniors and Juniors are competing (separately!) on this year’s Kingdom Stages. We are looking for marshals and radio marshals to assist with the safe running of both events.

The Scottish speed scene reaches a climax this weekend (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October) at Kames Motorsport Complex as competitors from several championships compete to secure 2021 awards. The event could do with a few additional marshals to make sure everything runs as planned.

Garry Stevenson embarked on his 10th Kiltwalk yesterday, walking 16.5 miles to raise money to support SMMC. We think that's pretty amazing! You can support Garry's effort until 4 October.

The Arbroath Stages is a single venue stage rally being run by Condor Motor Sports Club at the Royal Marine Commando base near Arbroath on 25 September. Marshals will be provided with breakfast and lunch.

Alastair Gray, Chief Marshal of Doune Hillclimb, is still looking for support for the final event of the year at the venue next weekend 18th/19th September. You can volunteer for one or both days.

Knockhill is looking for marshals to help at the Super Lap Scotland Championship finale on 18/19 September. This event marks the end of the 2021 season and will see fast and furious action on track as the season's champions cement their places in the history books. Saturday will be on the anti-clockwise layout and Sunday is clockwise.

We need marshals for the Boyndie Sprint on 25 and 26 September 2021 at Grampian Kart Club, near Banff. You can expect a contribution towards fuel, regular tea, coffee and snack deliveries to your post as well as lunch.

The 2021 Bo’ness Revival will take place at the Forrestburn Speed Hill Climb near Harthill on 4th and 5th September. A few more marshals would make life much easier.
