As another busy and rewarding year comes to an end, the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club would like to send warm festive wishes to all of our Members.
Whether you have been out in all weathers, travelling long distances to support events, mentoring new marshals, or contributing behind the scenes, your commitment, professionalism, and goodwill remain the backbone of motorsport in Scotland. From circuits and stages to hills and sprints, the presence of Scottish marshals is felt and respected nationwide.
2025 has highlighted, once again, the vital role marshals play in keeping events safe, fair, and welcoming. Your calm judgement under pressure, teamwork, and willingness to give your time freely reflect the very best of our sport. The friendships formed and the pride taken in doing the job well are what make this Club such a strong and supportive community. Our Honorary President, David Swinton, passes on his congratulations for another successful year.
Mentioning those that work behind the scenes and the Community, there were changes to the Trustees during the year. As already communicated to you all, Andrew Main stood down as a Trustee at the AGM in September. The Trustees had already co-opted Mark Russell as a Trustee earlier in the year and at the AGM, Allan Matheson was also elected. Both bring extensive knowledge and expertise to the Committee.
As the festive season arrives, we take a moment to remember those we have lost and to recognise the importance of looking out for one another. Motorsport marshals share a unique bond, built on trust, shared experiences, and a love of the sport that runs deep.
However you choose to mark this time of year, whether surrounded by family, friends, fellow marshals, or enjoying some quiet time, we hope you find rest and reassurance. For any members who are on their own over the festive period, please remember that you are never truly alone, you are part of a wider community that values you and looks forward to seeing you back at an event soon.
Looking ahead to the new season, we are excited for what lies ahead and grateful for the continued dedication of our members. Together, we will continue to support each other, welcome new faces, and uphold the high standards of marshalling in Scotland and beyond.
