The Galloway Hills Rally has been a highlight in the forests of southwest Scotland since 1974, and this year’s event on Saturday 13th September marks its 50th Anniversary. The rally will run through the scenic Galloway forests of Black Loch and Cairn Edward, with each stage tackled twice in one direction and once in reverse. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us as radio operators or marshals, helping to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.

This year, the Service Area will be located on hardstanding ground in the East Ayrshire town of Dalmellington, which will also host both the Start and Finish of the event.

With the first car scheduled to begin Stage One shortly after 11:00, the rally will have a later start than many other events.

A number of radio operators are required to provide safety communications – please register at https://www.smmc.org.uk/events/2025/armstrong-galloway-hills-rally-saturday-13-september-2025/. Even if you’re unable to attend, a quick response would be greatly appreciated, as it helps us plan effectively.

On stage marshals are also required – please register HERE if you would like to assist.

Co-promoters Solway, Machars, and East Ayrshire Car Clubs are excited to welcome all volunteers to join in celebrating fifty years of competition and camaraderie at “the Hills.”

If you have any questions, please contact garry@smmc.org.uk or call 07780 602480.
