Thank you to all of the volunteer Marshals and Radio Marshals that have already been in touch to offer assistance on this year’s event. Your help is most appreciated. Here's an update of plans so far.

Thank you to all of the volunteer Marshals and Radio Marshals that have already been in touch to offer assistance on this year’s event. Your help is most appreciated.

With a little under 5 weeks to go until the cars start from Market Square in Duns, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to join them whether it is for one, two, or all three days.

Friday morning will see crews complete a shakedown near Kelso before the first of two runs through Longformacus in the evening.

Saturday starts with a stage through Edrom, then a rough clockwise route takes crews to Ayton, Fogo and back to Duns for service. After a second run of the stages cars will return to the Market Square for the ceremonial Finish.

Onto Sunday competitors in the Reivers Rally will tackle stages in Westruther, Scott’s View and Eccles, again all run twice before returning to Duns to spray the Champagne.

Service will again be on the outskirts of the town where there will be much more space.

Whether you are an in-stage marshal, prefer undertaking timing duties or are a Motorsport UK licenced Radio Marshal there are still roles available. All signed on volunteers will receive a Marshal’s goody bag and we have again negotiated a discount of food from Blackadder Mini Market and Deli on the rally route in Greenlaw.

If you are available to assist please register through Rally Stage Team at www.rallystageteam.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you out on the stages at the end of May.

Marshals Draw

Once again we have a super Marshals draw taking place. Prizes offered so far include:

  • A rally experience for 2 people, to include a contribution to accommodation and travel (max value £1000)
  • An accompanied day out for two, driving alternately a Jaguar E Type V12 and an Aston Martin DB7 6i supercharged (including an opportunity to drive, dependent upon licence!)
  • A stunt ride experience with Paul Swift Stunts
  • A pair of tickets to the BTCC at Croft Circuit
  • A pair of tickets to the BTCC at Knockhill Circuit
  • A £50 voucher to spend in the event online shop
  • A £50 spa gift voucher

We asked Alasdair MacConnell, who won the star prize in 2022 to send us some pictures of the day he had at the Chris Birkbeck Rallyschool. His reply summed it up: ‘I didn’t get much at the time as it was a full on day. Very informative, enjoyable and excellent instructors. Learned a lot, especially my own limitations and why I marshal and don’t compete.’ Sign up now, this could be you in 2023.

Free Camping!

We appreciate the challenge everybody is facing with the cost of living. We are pleased to advise that once again we are offering all registered Marshals and Radio Marshals the opportunity of free camping at Duns Rugby Club where there will be toilets and showers available.

This offer is available on Friday and Saturday nights – volunteer to marshal on two days and you can claim back the cost of one nights pitch; offer to assist on all three days and you can claim back the cost of two nights.

To book your space complete and submit the form and someone from the Rugby Club will be in touch to arrange payment. A form will be provided to claim the cost back after the event.

Preview Day

Want to meet Bobby Beatson? Then come along to the Rally Preview day on Saturday 13 May in the Market Square. As well as Bobby and a range of Rally Cars there will be a display from our Charity Partner for 2023 and bookings permitting, a chance to see the equipment on board a Motorsport Rescue Unit. Members of the Organising Team will also be on hand to answer any questions about the event including the route.
