After the Rally planning meeting this week the organising team have sadly come to a decision to cancel the Beatson’s Mull Rally this year due to the ongoing uncertainty around COVID-19. Here is a message from Andy Jardine, Clerk of the Course...
As an organising team we have decided that it will not be possible to run the Beatson’s Mull Rally this year due to the ongoing uncertainty around COVID-19. We have been keeping a watching brief on developments and we have been working on contingency plans to allow us to run in various scenarios and at this point there are too many open issues that we cannot see a way out of. We promised to go back to competitors by the end of this month with a decision and a press release will be issued this evening on all the usual channels. At the front of our minds is the ability to keep everyone safe, including yourselves and your teams and also the islanders who are always welcoming and supporting to us in normal times.
As always a big thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. I know a few folk have been busy away despite the situation making plans for the year and for that we are grateful. Having the extra time from now until Oct 2021 we are planning to see if there’s something we can do to the format to make Mull Rally feel a bit different without taking away the challenge and feel good factor that surrounds the event.
In the mean time take care of yourselves, stay safe and I hope you get to be part of some motorsport later in the year.
